Good evening, Class of 2028!
The class Executive Board held a leadership meeting this past Friday,
October 18, 2024. In order to maintain transparency, we wanted to share
what we discussed at this meeting with you. If you have any questions,
concerns, or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out.
*Short-Term Items:*
- *Group Projects:* Some of us have heard concerns about difficulty
coordinating while having different groups for different classes projects.
Faculty discussion is ongoing regarding the same groups throughout the
semester. More information will follow after the class town hall, which is
also being coordinated.
- *Town Hall:* We plan to have a town hall meeting and lunch might be
provided. Please complete this form to indicate your preferred date and any
food allergies. https://forms.gle/m67r1ZYwgp52cMLCA
- *Concern Form:* It is important to us that you are able to freely
voice your concerns! Trent has created *this form
<https://forms.gle/EQGdy3XNazdAh3mGA>* for you to share your concerns.
- Some issues have been brought to our attention since last Friday’s
meeting that we plan to address this week, discuss with professors, and
updates will be provided to the class.
- *Weekly Calendar:* A weekend calendar with upcoming organization
events in one location was discussed. Discussion is ongoing about whether
that should be in a paper or electronic format.
- *Bible Study:* Our Chaplain, Cody, has planned and is currently
approved a Bible study that will be held on a weekly basis on Wednesdays,
from 4–5 p.m. in Maddox Room 224, with a discussion-based format.
*Long-Term Items:*
- *Class T-shirt:* We discussed whether to fundraise to reduce the
typical $30 price for a class T-shirt or have students pay directly. We
plan to figure out when the Class Games Day will be and plan accordingly.
- *Fundraising:* Ideas include a Creek Coffee fundraiser and a
pickleball tournament. We could use a portion of the income to reduce
T-shirt costs and the other half to give to a service-based organization.
We discussed inviting other classes and programs to participate.
- If you have any fundraising ideas/events that you would be
interested in seeing please feel free to let us know.
