Hello Fellow Pharmacy Students!!

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful summer day and your break from
school! Today is the first Thursday of May, which is *National Day of
Prayer! *Today marks a day of remembrance of prayer, compassion, and
communicating with God.

For those who are wondering about how to pray, or would like to start with
the foundations, the most common practice is outlined below. Prayer can be
done anywhere and for any reason, so doing what is best for your prayer
practice is always the best way to pray!
*1)* Find a center that allows you to be calm and peaceful while praying.
This will allow you to collect your thoughts and intentions.
*2)* Start by communicating what you are thinking and feeling. God can
handle all emotions and feelings.
*3)* Work through your feelings as you pray. Prayer is not one-sided, as
God works through the Holy Spirit to give indications/directions on
emotions and how to proceed forward.
*4)* Close the prayer with the best method for you and an Amen. (Examples:
"In your holy and precious name, Amen.")

In the Bible, we have several examples of prayer and numerous prayer
practices. There are also numerous guided prayers available to follow along
with for when you do not have the words or cannot come up with the words
for yourself. Prayer is also a continuous practice. Prayer can be seen as a
skill; the more you practice it, the better you can become at praying! I
always encourage prayer. Prayer can change a moment, a situation, and any
event! An important take-home message about the importance of prayer and
joining together in prayer as a community in *1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
- Final Instructions.*

*12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work
hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold
them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace
with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who
are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be
patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong,
but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone
else.16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.19 Do not
quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test
them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.23 May God
himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole
spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.*

*25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26 Greet all God's people with a
holy kiss. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all
the brothers and sisters.*

*28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.*

I pray for your prosperity and safety throughout the summer! Please reach
out if you ever need a prayer. I am always glad to pray for anyone, for any
reason, at any time!

Blessings and Best!
