The Pharmacy Technician Society℠ (TPTS) <https://www.pharmtechsociety.org/>,
an organization created by the American Society of Health-System
Pharmacists (ASHP)
serves as the collective voice for pharmacy technicians across various
healthcare settings. Through education, networking, policy development, and
advocacy, TPTS is dedicated to advancing the pharmacy technician profession
and fostering career growth opportunities.

*What they can expect: *As an intern with TPTS, students will engage in a
completely virtual 8–10-week program, collaborating closely with
professionals in TPTS and ASHP offices. The internship offers flexible
start and end dates, enabling seamless integration with students' summer
rotation schedules. Experiences may include researching regulatory changes
affecting pharmacy technicians, contributing to educational programming,
and participating in member engagement activities. This opportunity
provides firsthand insights into the indispensable role pharmacy
technicians play in supporting patient care, while offering a practical
learning environment aimed at enhancing students’ skills and knowledge.

*Benefits of the summer internship:*

   1. *Insight into Interdisciplinary Collaboration: *Pharmacy students
will have the opportunity to collaborate with pharmacy technicians and
other healthcare professionals, gaining a deeper understanding of
interdisciplinary teamwork, a crucial aspect of modern healthcare practice.
   2. *Broadening Perspectives:* Exposure to TPTS initiatives will broaden
students' perspectives on the diverse roles within the pharmacy profession,
providing insights that can inform their future career paths, whether in
   clinical practice, research, or administration.
   3. *Professional Development: *The internship offers a platform for
students to develop essential skills such as communication, leadership, and
advocacy—skills that are transferable and valuable in any pharmacy career.
   4. *Networking Opportunities: *Interns will engage with professionals
from TPTS and ASHP, expanding their professional network and opening doors
to potential mentorship and future collaborations.
