Pet of the week: Brittany Kauffman, PA program senior admissions coordinator
Loki is a Siberian husky with bi-colored eyes and will be 9 years old in
April. He joined the Kauffman family at 4 months old back in 2014. He was
rehomed from a family who chose another dog over him. Ask Loki and he says
he’s perfectly fine with that, as he is a spoiled momma’s boy and usually
gets what he wants! Loki loves to swim, follow Mommy wherever she goes,
pick on his sister Milla until she plays with him (which doesn’t take
long), and just be with his people. He loves salmon and fresh green beans
and cannot eat his food without a little bit of grilled chicken in it.
Instead of toys, he loves to play with and destroy furry and fluffy
decorative pillows. Ask Loki and he will say he is living the life!
Milla is a Siberian husky with blue eyes and approximately 6 years old. She
joined the Kauffman family in 2017 via Southern Siberian Rescue located in
North Carolina. She was left at a groomers for unknown reasons and sent to
the rescue where she was adopted a week later by the Kauffman’s. Milla is a
full-blown daddy’s girl and professional toy destroyer. She knows what she
wants when she wants it and usually gets her way. She absolutely loves her
brother Loki, has found so much comfort in him as she was very timid and
nervous when she first arrived, and loves bating him to play. Milla will
eat almost anything you give her unless it is fresh vegetables. She thinks
they are gross! Milla loves to swim but gets nervous when she leaves her
feet, loves to play soccer (especially by herself), and will spend the
entire day outside no matter the weather conditions.
