[Pa26] Blood Drive Opportunities and Info

Happy almost Friday!!! Please read the following email about our upcoming blood drive we are hosting :)

Campbell PA and Public Health are hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday February 19th from 2-6:30pm!!!
This event will take place in the lobby of Smith hall. I have a few volunteer opportunities for this event (and they will count towards your community service requirement!). This event will be the day of our Endo OSCE. I have spoken with Ms. Harding and the OSCE schedule has not been made yet, so if you sign up to donate or volunteer, she will work the schedule around your time!

Here are the opportunities I have for you:

Volunteer to welcome donors, monitor the “canteen” aka snack table to make sure donors eat a snack and wait 10-15 mins, or be a floater at the drive to help with what is needed. You will receive 1.5 hrs to go to your Community Service requirement for this role. 

Be a donor! Sign up to donate blood! (also a $15 e-gift card incentive) There is also a “power red” slot to donate just red blood cells, there are certain requirements to be a power red donor and I will attach a document about that below. If you donate blood, you will receive 1 hour to go to your Community Service Requirement! Bake! I think it will be a fun way to personalize our blood drive if we have some homemade goodies for donors to enjoy after. If you want to bake something for the snack table, you will receive 1 hour toward your community service requirement! Email me if you are interested in this!

Even if you have met your community service requirement, still consider donating or volunteering for this opportunity. We will have community members coming to donate so let’s represent our program! Email me with any questions, and if you have any other community service engagments you’d like us to be a part of, I’d love some more ideas!
