Good afternoon,

I’m reaching out with an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) for locums coverage in Asheville, NC. This is a dedicated inpatient role supporting a diverse surgical critical care population and working in a highly collaborative environment.

Position Highlights:

  *   Patient Population: Trauma, General Surgery, Vascular, Neurosurgery, and other surgical subspecialties
  *   Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6a–6p), 365 days/year coverage
  *   Team-Based Care: Work alongside attending physicians, residents, nurses, RTs, pharmacists, PTs, case managers, and more
  *   EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities:

  *   Participate in multidisciplinary rounds
  *   Document daily progress and interim notes
  *   Manage complex wound care and facilitate transfers/discharges
  *   Provide patient and family education
  *   Perform procedures as needed: intubation, bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, central/arterial line placement, laceration repair, and more

Requirements:

  *   Prior Critical Care experience required
  *   Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple surgical subspecialties

This role offers a high level of autonomy in patient management while still functioning within a strong, multidisciplinary support system.
