[Pa25] Inclement Weather

We hope that your first week of rotation #6 is going well!  With the potential for winter weather, the Clinical Team would like to remind you of the Inclement Weather Policy for CUPA clinical students.
Inclement Weather
In the event of frozen precipitation, students should follow the Inclement Weather policy of the facility at which they are assigned.  Since we have students across the state, campus closings do not excuse the student from reporting to their clinical site.  Students are expected to make their best effort to report to their scheduled shift on time; however, they are also expected to demonstrate good judgment about their abilities to travel safely.  It is the student's responsibility to contact the clinical preceptor as well as the PA Clinical Team in a timely manner if the student is delayed or unable to report for his/her scheduled shift.

Please keep in mind that your safety is paramount!  If your preceptor/site contact asks that you report to the clinic/hospital, but you feel that it is not safe to do so, notify both the preceptor AND the Clinical Team.  We do not expect you to travel in unsafe conditions.  If you must miss clinic time based on weather conditions, you should ask your preceptor if there are hours/shifts that you can pick up to offset the missed time.  Depending on how many hours are missed (and the total hours scheduled), the Clinical Team will make a determination on a case-by-case basis regarding what time (if any) will need to be "made up".  Open lines of communication both the sites/preceptors AND the Clinical Team are critical.

IF your office/site closes, you can count the hours for that shift in Exxat and comment "Snow day" or "Office closed". (You should still try to pick up extra hours if they are available).
