[Pa25] December Service Opportunities- Please Read!

I know we're wrapping up on the block and everyone's getting ready to head
home, but we have a bunch of community service opportunities this month
(for people who are staying local for the holidays AND for those of you
leaving after the exam) so make sure to read all of this email (please!!!)

   December Diaper Drive

   Details about this are in the Monday Memo and the flyer attached (up to
   3 hours!)

   The collection runs December 1st-15th

   Dunn Habitat for Humanity


   -

   The Dunn Habitat ReStore needs a ton of help the holiday season!
   -

   You can sign up for any shifts from December 8th-31st

    Good Hope Hospital Holiday Gift Bags


   -

   Campbell PA Alumni, Beth Ehlers reached out this week with a last-minute
   need that I am confident we can help out with.
   -

   Message from Beth: “We will have 18 patients. We have put together a
   list of potential items to include: Fuzzy socks with grippers on the
   bottom, Chapstick, Gloves, Positive Affirmation Stickers, Fidget
   toys/Stress balls, Small hair brushes/combs, Hair ties/scrunchies,
   Alcohol-Free lotions/hand sanitizers, etc. *All products need to be free of
   sharp objects or alcohol. Additionally, we have a lot of patients who are
   requesting Bibles so if you have any ideas on how to get some Bibles
   donated that would also be greatly appreciated”

   We did not have enough time to get this approved by Student Affairs as
   an official service event, but I would still LOVE it if some of you would
   consider donating.
   -

   The service hour equivalent will be the same as the Diaper Drive ($10
   worth of items = 1 hour)
   -

   Please place these items next to the diaper collection and I will bring
   them over to Good Hope over break.

   If you’ve read up to this point, THANK YOU! Christmas Craft Volunteer
   12/12 in Apex, NC


   -

   At our last meeting, I mentioned a volunteer opportunity at The
   Templeton in Cary. Unfortunately, they have had some recent COVID scares
   and want to avoid bringing volunteers in so that their residents can see
   family over Christmas.
   -

   Instead, there is an opportunity for 8 students to work a Christmas
   Craft event at The Cambridge in Apex, NC on Tuesday, December 12th at
   3:30 pm.
   -

   Sign up is first come first serve by texting me at (919) 285-5566.



Please reach out to me with any questions and remember to update your hours
on the Community Service Hours Spreadsheet. The deadline for this is
now *December
31st *due to these additional opportunities that came up.
