[Pa25] MPAP 505 - Discrepancy between Objectives and Lecture Material Presented

Hi everyone,

Steven had asked me questions about the objectives for the arterial and venous disorders lecture. Some clarifications are below:

You will need to know about:

  * Acute limb ischemia – the material is tied to the arterial embolism/thrombus objective
  * Buerger’s disease – the material is tied to the phlebitis/thrombophlebitis objective
  * You will also need to know about venous thrombosis (DVT) – see the cardiac labs lecture or the textbook

For the following subjects, you will not need to know them for this exam. But remember, patients can present with any of these and they are fair game on the PANCE. I suggest you make some brief notes (from the PowerPoints or textbook) and store them in a part of your brain where they will be retrievable in the future. 😊

  *   Arteriovenous malformation
  *   Venous stasis dermatitis
  *   LeRiche syndrome
  *   Mesenteric ischemia
  *   SVC obstruction
  *   Occlusive cerebrovascular disease

Best, Ian

Subject: MPAP 505 - Discrepancy between Objectives and Lecture Material Presented

Hello Dr. Ward,

I am emailing regarding discrepancy between the objectives and lecture material covered for the Arterial and Venous Disorders lecture. There were 4 disorders on our objectives that were not covered (arterial embolism/thrombosis, arteriovenous malformation, venous thrombosis, and venous stasis dermatitis) and 6 disorders covered that were not in our lecture objectives (LeRiche Syndrome, Acute Limb Ischemia, Buerger Disease, Occlusive Cerebrovascular Disease, Mesenteric Ischemia, and SVC Obstruction). For exam purposes, could you please clarify which disorders we will be responsible for? Thanks!

Best,
