[lawpublicinterest] GRANT MONEY/STIPENDS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE/INTEREST WORK - DEADLINES APPROACHING!

Good morning Public Interest/Service ListServ,

We want to make sure you are aware of available funding opportunities if you will be working in a public service capacity this summer. Several opportunities are listed below. See Symplicity postings for details regarding criteria and how to apply.

  *
IOLTA (Symplicity #22013) funding will provide stipends of at least $5,000 for grant recipients serving in counties designated as legal deserts. There are up to 10 grants available. Qualifying internships include NC based non-profits providing free legal services to low-income individuals, DA's offices, public defender's offices, and courts across the state where students work under the supervision of a judge in legal deserts. A chart indicating legal deserts is attached to this email. Deadline to apply is April 1.

John Paul Steven Foundation (Symplicity #22012) is a public service/interest grant that provides 2 awards in the amount of $5,000.  Deadline to apply is April 1. CPILSA/AJ Fletcher stipend (Symplicity #22011) are public service stipends in the amount of $2,000 for qualifying public service positions. Deadline to apply is April 16.
