A. Todd Brown (N.C. Business Court) GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Honorable A. Todd Brown, Special Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases, seeks a full-time, judicial law clerk to begin August 2026 in the Charlotte chambers of the North Carolina Business Court. The clerkship term is for one year subject to renewal for an additional year by mutual agreement. Responsibilities include conducting legal research; drafting memoranda, orders, and opinions; participating in courtroom and chambers proceedings; and assisting in case management. Applications accepted from Spring 2026 graduating class or earlier. Applicants should have keen critical thinking skills, an interest in corporate and business law and business litigation, exceptional writing skills, and strong law school academic performance (top 10% preferred). Judge Brown will consider applications on a rolling basis and may conduct interviews before the application deadline. The North Carolina Business Court is a specialized forum of the North Carolina Superior Court. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina designates cases involving complex and significant issues of corporate and commercial law for assignment to a Business Court Judge who oversees resolution of all matters in the case through trial. Applicants for employment opportunities with the Judicial Branch of Government may be subject to state and national criminal and/or sex offender registry background searches as a condition of employment.
