[Lawdiversity] Lavender Law Conference Scholarship Opportunity

North Carolina’s Pauli Murray LGBTQ+ Bar Association (PMBA) has opened the application for their scholarship for law students to attend the 2024 Lavender Law Conference in Washington, D.C. Lavender Law is a conference and career fair that “is designed to achieve a sense of community and inclusion for LGBTQ+ candidates within the legal profession’s recruiting efforts.” Participants “will talk directly to LGBTQ+ friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBTQ+ rights groups, and corporate legal departments.” There is also general programming and other workshops.  This year’s conference will be held from August 7 through August 9 (there will also be a reception for law students and recruiters on August 6).



The scholarship will pay for students’ membership to the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, airfare, lodging, transportation and a meal per diem. Applications will close on May 8, 2024 and the PMBA will aim at selecting students by May 15, 2024 to give them enough time to coordinate all travel.  The PMBA has secured funding to award six scholarships this year.
