Good morning,

We hope you are all enjoying some well-deserved down time after completing your first semester of law school. Congratulations on all you have accomplished to this point! Before our office closes for the break on Friday, we have a few job search related reminders and updates we want to share.

First, if you have not yet gotten your legal resume approved, please reach out to your counselor now so you do not have delays accessing the job bank. If you are not sure who to reach out to, you can reply to this email or email lawcareercenter at campbell.edu. If your resume has been approved and you are having issues accessing the job bank, please reach out to our office this week so we can resolve them before the break.

Second, you should now be able to log in to Symplicity and view employers who have registered for On Campus Interviews next semester, though you cannot yet apply. If you have trouble viewing the employers who have registered so far, email Martin Jones at mjones at campbell.edu. Employers will continue to sign up for OCIs after the break, so check back regularly for updates. We will provide more information on the OCI timelines and application process when we return.

Third, be mindful of job application deadlines. Most deadlines for currently posted job opportunities are not until at least January, but they will get here quickly in the new year so plan ahead and calendar important dates now. If employers indicate they are reviewing applications on a rolling basis, we recommend you apply well before the deadline to increase your chance of success.

If you plan to apply to big law firms and you have not started submitting applications, you should go ahead and apply now/as soon as your application materials have been carefully prepared, edited, and proofread, even though you do not yet have your grades. Submit applications directly to the big firms of interest through firm Flo Recruit platforms or firm website portals. Use those resources to determine individual firm application requirements and deadlines. You will supplement your application with your transcript when it becomes available, typically sometime in mid to late January, but do not wait for your transcript to submit big firm applications. If you have questions reach out to our office.

Additionally, if you are applying for big law firm positions and the firm is hosting a home for the holidays event, we recommend you attend the events as you are able (check the Career Advisor for firm events and dates). Firms use those events to get to know candidates informally as part of the recruiting process for both 1L and 2L summer positions. The Alston & Bird events are still accepting registrations even though the deadline has passed. Others may be as well if you find you are now able to attend and have not yet registered.

If you plan to submit application materials before we return from the break and you want them reviewed before submitting them, you must email us as soon as possible this week. We are making every effort to give feedback by Friday afternoon when we close for the break. Otherwise, we will be back in the office on January 2.

Finally, Monday's Career Advisor contained an overview of important dates in January for those who want a preview of what will be happening when we return. The newsletter also included an update regarding student registration for the North Carolina Legal Interview Program. Below is additional information on that program. We will provide more details on both OCIs and NCLIP when we return in January.

NC Legal Interview Program - Student Registration Now Open. The North Carolina law schools are once again partnering to offer the 2026 North Carolina Legal Interview Program (NCLIP), a unique opportunity for students to connect directly with employers across the state.

NCLIP is designed to introduce talented law students to small and mid-sized law firms (25 or fewer attorneys), public sector employers, and corporate in-house legal departments seeking candidates for summer and entry-level positions.
Through this program, you will submit applications and be selected to interview with employers on February 6-7, 2026 (all interviews will be conducted virtually using the Flo Recruit platform). You must register in advance to participate.
We invite you to take advantage of this valuable program and begin building your professional future in North Carolina’s legal community!
To register, please visit: https://florecruit.com/v2/app/nclip/registration/events/93809/register
Once you’ve completed registration, you will receive detailed information about submitting applications and viewing your interview selections. Applications will open January 9, 2026, and the application period closes January 14, 2026.
Recap:
Register for NCLIP using the provided link
Review employers and submit applications beginning January 9, 2026
Application deadline January 14, 2026
Interviews conducted virtually February 6-7, 2026
If you have any questions about NCLIP, reach out to Director Roede at groede at campbell.edu.
In the meantime, have a wonderful break and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

Warm regards,
