[Law26] Uninstalling Pharos (Law School Printing)

To get ready to install the new PaperCutMF student printing thingy, you should also consider uninstalling Pharos from your laptops (frees up space and removes the option from your printer list).

NOTE: I have two (2) sets of instructions for removing Pharos…1st is for Macbooks, then Windows laptops (scroll down past Macbook stuff for Windows screen captures)

For Macbooks:
•       Click on Finder – Go – Computer (then go to Macintosh HD – Library – Application Support – Pharos – Utilities and click on “Uninstaller”)
•       NOTE: My Macbook hard drive is listed as “Macintosh HD”, but yours may be different…just look for the grey icon thingy that looks like a hard drive)

•       Select the Pharos Popup and hit “Continue” twice (once to select and next to confirm the action)

•       If prompted, type in your Username and Password for your Macbook and click “OK”

•       Then you should get a Progress confirmation box informing you that Pharos (“components” in AppleSpeak) has been removed. Click “Done”.

•       Next, go back to Finder and move the remaining Pharos folder to the trash (click on mousepad with two fingers and select “Move to Trash”)

•       If prompted, enter your Username and Password for your Macbook to complete the trashing..click “OK”

Done! Now you are ready to install PaperCutMF 🖖 once that email comes out!

For Windows 10\11: click on the Microsoft icon in the lower left corner    of the task bar

NOTE: Windows 11 is similar – Windows icon is a bit different but the Gear icon is similar for “Settings”

•       Select the Gear Icon (Settings) then Apps (Windows 10)

NOTE: For Windows 11 – to get to Apps the screen looks like this:

•       Locate Pharos and click “Uninstall” and “Run the Uninstaller” (click “Next” to start)

   Click “Next” to start the process, then “Next” to choose the folder, then “Start”

•       An Installing “progress bar” will populate, then click “Finish” to end the uninstall.

Done! Now you are ready to install PaperCutMF 🖖
