Sent on Behalf of Old Kivett Advocacy Council
Greetings First Year Law Students!
On behalf of the Old Kivett Advocacy Council, we cordially invite all 1L’s to sign up for the 2023 Richard T. Bowser Client Counseling Competition as Student Volunteers. The competition will take place on November 9-11, 2023. The competition’s rounds will take place during the following times:
· Thursday, November 9, 2023 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
· Friday, November 10, 2023 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
· Friday, November 10, 2023 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
· Saturday, November 11, 2023 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
· Saturday, November 11, 2023 11:30 AM -1 PM
The Client Counseling Competition will be held in person at Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.
The Client Counseling Competition allows students to work on the fundamental skills necessary for all successful attorneys, specifically the ability to interview, counsel, and support a client through an initial interview. The ability to relate to clients is an underrated and underappreciated component of Trial Advocacy.
Volunteering for these competitions will provide you with a front row seat on how Client Counseling works and allow you to be involved with the operation of the competition. If you are interested in being a competitor in the competition next year, this is a great way to learn more about how Client Counseling works!
If you are interested in volunteering, click here<https://forms.gle/G6dqMc7J3MfCbTA9A> to sign up. Please sign up by Monday, October 23, by 5:00 P.M.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Rachel Putnam at roputnam0312 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:roputnam0312 at email.campbell.edu>.
Best,
