[Law25] IMPORTANT ABA REQUIREMENT INFORMATION (and job reasources)

We hope you are all doing well! We have some important updates/action items for all of you and appreciate you taking a few minutes to review it all and respond as appropriate.



VERY IMPORTANT ACTION ITEM IF YOU HAVE SECURED A JOB SINCE GRADUATION:



If you have secured a job since graduation, congratulations! You may know that as part of the law school’s accreditation process the ABA requires us to report employment statistics for all graduates. You will recall that you completed the graduate employment survey at graduation, but many of you did not yet have jobs at that time. If you have secured a job since graduation, please take a moment and complete the fillable PDF that is attached to this email and send it back to me. If you are still looking, please complete the survey as soon as you secure a job and return it to me. It only takes a few minutes to fill it out and we greatly appreciate your attention to this very important ABA requirement.



IF YOU ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A JOB:



If you are still looking for a job, we have attached a sample resume showing you how to include bar passage on your resume, as well as a chart with recent Symplicity postings for new graduates. It is not exhaustive but hopefully it will give you a good start as you regroup after taking the bar and continue your search.

  *   If you are interested in working in any underserved county in North Carolina (cities other than major metropolitan areas like Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro), whether in a private firm or public service, please reach out to me and our office will connect you with resources. There are many job opportunities across the state in all practice settings and areas that are not posted.
  *    If you want to work for the government, remember to regularly check state and municipal websites for openings.
