Hi 1Ls and 2Ls!

I hope your spring semester is going well. On behalf of the Competitive Advocacy Program, I wanted to invite you all to a meeting with the current Willem Vis team on Tuesday, March 7th at Noon. We will be discussing some of the more general legal aspects of international arbitration, as well as some of the problems posed in the current problem.

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is a competition for students to study and apply, in realistic scenarios, international commercial sales law and arbitration. Each year, the competition is held in Vienna, Austria and has over 350 teams, from over 80 jurisdictions across the world. The problem always involves a dispute regarding a contract of sale between two countries that are party to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (the CISG).

If this sounds like something you may want to participate in during your second or third year at Campbell, please feel free to join us to get a sense of what the team does to prepare for Vienna. The meeting will last approximately one hour and I will be happy to stay after and answer any questions you may have. If you plan to attend, please email me at mhealy at campbell.edu<mailto:mhealy at campbell.edu> so that I can ensure we have a large enough room. Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can answer any other questions.

Sincerely,

Maeve Healy
