Dear Students,

We’re excited to welcome you to our upcoming interprofessional advocacy and health policy panel, Advocacy in Action: Interprofessional Perspectives on Health Policy, on Tuesday, February 3! This IPE PLACES event is designed to help students better understand how advocacy connects to clinical practice and how health professionals can engage in policy work throughout their careers.

Date: Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Hobson Performing Arts Center located within D. Rich Hall (414 Judge Taylor Road, Buies Creek, NC)

       Collaboration, Pharmacist)
●     Randall Lazicki (Membership Director of the American Physical               Therapy Association of North Carolina, Physical Therapist)
●     Moderated by Will Bratton, CPHS Assistant Dean for Administration

🕐 Schedule for the Afternoon
1:00 – 1:15 PM: Welcome + Panelist Introductions
1:15 – 2:30 PM: Moderated Panel Discussion
2:30 – 3:00 PM: Student Q&A (Town Hall style)

🗣️ What to Expect
You’ll hear panelists discuss real-world experiences such as:
●     What advocacy means in their healthcare roles
●     Legislative or policy “wins” they’ve helped support
●     How clinical experience can shape policymaking
●     Practical advice for students who are new to advocacy
●     Light snacks and water will be available in the lobby of the auditorium.

🚗 Carpooling + Parking Information
General parking will be available anywhere on the main campus, except for Faculty & Staff lots/spaces. Parking permits will not be enforced during the event. Please view the interactive map of all parking lots here.

Because attendance is expected to be high, we strongly encourage students to carpool, when possible, to reduce congestion and ensure everyone can arrive on time. Please see the attached parking directions and maps. Thank you for helping make arrival and parking smoother for all attendees!

🕒 Arrival & Check-In:
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for parking and walking to the venue. Check-in and check-out QR codes will be located as you enter and exit Hobson Performing Arts Center. Please be mindful of not leaving trash in the auditorium at the conclusion of the event.

As your new Director of Inter-Professional Education, I am excited to host our first event together.
