Greetings!  As you might have already learned, we are entering a period of transition in the leadership of the Doctor of Health Sciences program.  As the Chair of the Department of Public Health (which includes the DHSc program), I wanted to take a moment to be sure that each student in the program received official notice of the upcoming changes.

Dr. David Coniglio--our founding Director, your gifted teacher, and my good friend-will retire at the end of July 2023.  We celebrate Dr. Coniglio's retirement as this will bring him much deserved rest and family-focused time.  Still, we recognize the tremendous value he brings to this work and we will forever be indebted to him for his stellar contributions in launching this program.  I know that Dr. Coniglio is dearly loved by the student cohorts, and I hope you will take a moment to offer him well-wishes as he makes this change.

Luckily, we have identified a great leader to take up the task of building from the foundation Dr. Coniglio has laid.  Dr. Paige Brown, who most of you already know and love as an instructor, will officially become Director of the DHSc effective August 1, 2023.  In the coming months, she will work alongside Dr. Coniglio to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.  We are thrilled to have her deep experience in Interprofessional Education steer the course of the program in its next phase.  Please join me in welcoming my dear friend and esteemed colleague into her new role.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.  It is my desire that each student in the DHSc program feels supported during this leadership transition.
