Dear OMS-I Students,

Welcome to your journey in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)! I want to introduce you to Essential OMM, a free online resource to support your learning throughout the year.

<span style="font-family:"Apple Color Emoji"">

Chapter 1: Basic Concepts of Essential OMM directly supports the material you'll cover in your first OMM session, specifically Sections 1.0 through 1.10. Sections 1.11 to 1.14 and their related review questions
are not covered in the first OMM session.

In the following weeks, you will cover the remaining sections of Chapter 1 and subsequent chapters. Each chapter includes review activities, practice questions, fill-in-the-blanks, and clinical integration exercises, all designed to help
reinforce what you’re learning in lab and lecture. Although this resource is optional and not a substitute for the course material, many students in previous years have found the review activities especially helpful in preparing for quizzes and exams.

The resource is entirely optional and free for you. You can access Chapter 1 here:
https://essentialomm.substack.com/p/chapter-1-basic-concepts

When you follow the link and request access, I’ll make sure you’re added to the complete set of chapters. Just be sure to use your Campbell email address when requesting access.

Essential OMM is a constantly evolving resource I developed in collaboration with CUSOM faculty editors and student authors. This first chapter was authored by Sol Yanuck, CUSOM ’25, with faculty review and editing. I’ll update you weekly
with links to relevant chapters and additional tools to guide your preparation for OMM sessions, quizzes, and written exams.

Looking forward to a great year of learning and discovery in OMM!
