Hello Class of 2029!

SAAO is happy to announce we are opening sign-ups for the Block 1 Mock Practical on September 26 with time slots from 1pm to 5pm! Here are the steps for signing up:

1. Choose a time slot from the following link. If there are any questions you have or accommodations you need, let us know by emailing me or the SAAO email on the SignUpGenius page.

2. Purchase either a ticket to only this practical ($10) or a membership that covers all mock practicals and review sessions going forwards ($20).

We will be checking who has paid the evening before (Faith has access to this list, we do not). Please have your time slot booked and either your ticket or membership paid by the evening of September 25.

This mock practical will be structured the same as the real deal - you will congregate outside the OMM lab 5-10 minutes before your scheduled start time. We will assign you a table number and you will line up in that order to enter the room with your assigned practical partner. In the lab, you will go to your assigned table and your grader will tell you who goes first and give you a task. You will have 8 minutes to complete your task. The table trainer will then give you feedback and you will switch who is doctor and repeat the process again. At the end of both of your turns, you will leave out the door in the back of the OMM lab close to the study rooms.

Please take this seriously, but do know we will likely be more critical than your faculty will be for the first practical. Our main goal is to make sure you feel prepared for anything they throw at you. I'm sure I can speak for my fellow TA's in saying we are proud of you and we are rooting for everyone to do well!
