This monthly newsletter highlights key dates, programming, and upcoming opportunities to support your personal, professional, and academic success.

Block 2 Advisor Meeting (mandatory attendance for all MS-1 students and faculty advisors)

  *   Wednesday, October 15, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Levine 201
We will discuss how to navigate Block 2 and share helpful tips for new experiences, including the gross anatomy lab and performing physical exams during clinical skills sessions. You’ll also receive updates on available resources, upcoming events, and opportunities specifically for MS-1 students.

  *   White Coat REHEARSAL  (mandatory attendance for all MS-1 students)
Tuesday, October 14, 12:00-1:00 p.m., Levine 201
Student affairs will go over important information regarding White Coat Ceremony and ticket distribution, & announcers will confirm the pronunciation of your name.

  *   White Coat Photo of Class of 2029 (mandatory attendance for all MS-1 students)
Thursday, October 16, 12:00-12:30 p.m., front of Levine Hall
BRING YOUR WHITE COAT with you to take a photo of your class in front of Levine Hall!

WHITE COAT CEREMONY (mandatory attendance)
Arrive at 1:00 p.m. at the Theater (2nd floor) within the Student Union Building to line up for the ceremony.

CUSOM ACE Opportunities:

Successfully Navigating Block 2 with MS-2 Peer Learning Partners (optional attendance, students only)

  *   Friday, October 24, 12:00-1:00 p.m., via Zoom
Join us via Zoom for a discussion led by MS-2 PLPs followed by Q& A to address Block 2 tips, concerns, etc.  Bring your questions!

NEW starting this BLOCK…Anatomy LAB Drop-In Sessions with MS-2 Peer Learning Partners
Drop in the anatomy gross lab any or all of the dates in Block 2 for extra practice with support from MS-2 PLPs (look for the orange lab coats in the lab 😊):

  *   Wednesday, October 22, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
  *   Saturday, November 1, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
  *   Wednesday, November 19, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
  *   Friday, December 5, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
  *   Saturday, December 6, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Weekly Student Drop-In Sessions Hosted by Peer Learning Partners (optional attendance, students only) in ACE Center—Levine 106

The CUSOM Student Research Club will have several MS-2 showcase their research experiences this past summer. Come check it out, ask questions, and get ideas how to pursue research as a student—and next year, this could be YOU!
