Greetings, Class of 2029!

If you are feeling a little overwhelmed, you are not alone…and what you are feeling is very normal and common!  Transitioning to the pace of medical school can be overwhelming—AND you can rise to meet this challenge.  You are capable of adapting and growing in the skills to conquer this—so focus on progress and celebrate each small win.

Do your best (with what you have today) and then, as much as you can, let the rest go (and then go to bed 😉!).  Remember, you need sleep for memory retention, focus, and just feeling like yourself—your health and wellness.

You should all have access to the Blackboard Organization:  CUSOM ACE.  Thank you to those who alerted me of the access issue yesterday!  We will be starting Drop-In Student Study Hours with our MS-2 Peer Learning Partners next week.  However, if you would like to request a one-on-one session, we are ready to match you up with a MS-2 PLP.  So, don’t wait!  (Use the link or QR code below)

REMINDER:
Tomorrow, Friday, August 1:  11:00 a.m.-12:50 p.m.—Moving from Lecture to Learning:  Effective & Efficient Strategies

  *   Optional, students-only session in Levine 201
  *   Join Dr. Hinkelman and four MS-2 Peer Learning Partners for a workshop session of practical tips and strategies for more efficiently and effectively learning following a lecture.  The MS-2 students will be going over several supplemental tools such as utilizing AI, Anki, Sporcle, Sketchy, etc.—how to get set up and how to use these to support your learning and things to avoid that may thwart your learning.  Bring your questions too!
