Hello, CUSOM Class of 2029!
Congratulations, and welcome to CUSOM! 😊 We are so excited to welcome you as part of our CUSOM Family! My name is Debi Pipes, and I am the Director of Student Affairs. Ms. Faith Huston is our wonderful Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Ms. Janice Taylor is our fabulous Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator. We will all be doing a LOT of correspondence with you from now until matriculation!
Accepted Students Day
We are planning an in-person Accepted Students Day for the Class of 2029 on Saturday, March 29th. You may attend by yourself, or with one or two guests. Our day will be from 8:15 AM – 2:30 PM and will include:
* Continental-style breakfast
* Morning sessions for students and family members
* Small group activities for students to meet current first-year medical students
* Financial Aid presentation for students and family members
* Student/Alumni panel and Q&A time
* Helpful information sessions to aid you in preparing for med school
* Lunch for all guests (vegan/vegetarian options also available)
* Student-led tours of our building
* A Housing Vendor Fair so you can begin to think about where you will live
We look forward to this day every year! Not only will you have the opportunity to meet your fellow classmates, get to learn more about the curriculum and rotation sites, and meet some of your upper classmates, but we will have the chance to get to know YOU! We also look forward to meeting your family members as we know they will see first-hand what is so special about our medical school.
So that we can prepare for the day, we would ask you to RSVP by clicking on this link: https://cuweb.wufoo.com/forms/cusom-accepted-students-day-2025/ to complete the registration survey. There is no dress code for the day. You and your family/guests may wear whatever is most comfortable.
*Please fill out the survey by Friday, March 21, 2025.
**Note: Due to space constraints we can only allow 2 guests per student. This event is open to adults only (no children please).
Housing
Below is a link to our current housing list for you to begin looking through as you start looking for housing around CUSOM. The list will constantly be changing as more vendors contact us to advertise properties, so keep checking this Google doc as it will be updated frequently.

Roommate Questionnaire
We do not match roommates, but we do provide the following Google doc for you to fill out if you are interested in finding a potential roommate. It is the responsibility of the student to reach out to other students who they might want to live with.

Orientation & Academic Calendar
Our 2025-2026 academic calendar is currently undergoing final adjustments and will be sent out shortly. Please plan on our mandatory Orientation being in JULY, but more specific dates and information will be sent out soon. More specific Block schedules, listing daily classes and labs, will be distributed at Orientation.
Class of 2029 Facebook Page & GroupMe
We have created a Class of 2029 Facebook Group:

Our groups are closed so students can have good, engaging conversations without being exposed to the entire public domain. You can go to our Facebook page and request to be added. If you have trouble, please let us know.
Our SGA President has also created a GroupMe link for the Class of 2029!! https://groupme.com/join_group/105421754/Udkkdsru

Books, Clinical Skills Equipment, and White Coats
* Our Medical Library Team will be putting together your book list over the summer. Most are electronic books.
* You will receive this book list in late July/early August, so there is nothing to purchase right now (or even before classes begin).
* Our Clinical Education Team will be updating your clinical skills equipment list, and this will be sent to you early in the summer. No items need to be purchased before the start of class except for a short, white consultation lab coat, which may be purchased on Amazon. This coat will be used starting the first week of class and all during Block 1. Students will get an “official, embroidered” CUSOM white coat at our White Coat Ceremony in October (at the start of Block 2).
* This year, our MS-1 students have organized a drive to collect their gently used coats so that some of our incoming students don’t need to purchase one on Amazon! We hope this will be the start of a wonderful eco- and budget-friendly tradition at CUSOM! If you are interested in obtaining a coat from the drive, please sign up on the following Google document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ApbaGBGE8oGawTgVYnt1cEHVP2d-9R4uZd7yzAbO3Pg/edit?usp=sharing.The coats are on a first come first serve basis and the donation drive finishes up on February 14th, so please check the spreadsheet after 2/14 and all available coats should be listed by then.
* If you have any questions regarding the white coat drive, please feel free to reach out to Holly Roy (email: h_liposky0507 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:h_liposky0507 at email.campbell.edu>) or Isabelle Foley (email: ipfoley1129 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:ipfoley1129 at email.campbell.edu>).
* Most students purchase scrubs to wear in the Anatomy Lab, but they are not required. Any color is acceptable.
