This monthly newsletter highlights key dates, programming, and upcoming opportunities to support your personal, professional, and academic success.

Block 1 Advising Meeting (mandatory attendance for MS-1 students & faculty advisors)

  *   Wednesday, August 13, 12 p.m.-1 p.m. in Levine 201
In this large group setting, we will hear important tips for navigating this block from Course Directors, updates and resources, and upcoming opportunities for MS-1 students.

IPE Introduction (mandatory attendance for MS-1 students)

  *   Thursday, August 21, 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. in Levine 201
Drs. Edwards & Gerstner will provide an introduction to Interprofessional Education (IPE) and upcoming information about the first IPE Event on September 12-13.

CUSOM ACE Opportunities:


  *   Weekly Student Drop-In Sessions Hosted by Peer Learning Partners (optional attendance, students only) in ACE Center—Levine 106
     *   No need to sign up—just “drop by” on Thursdays (see detailed schedule in ACE Blackboard for times each week)


  *   Effective Test-taking Strategies & Managing Test Anxiety (optional attendance, students only)
     *   Friday, August 15, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in Levine 201
     *   Erin Suwattana from Behavioral Health and Dr. Hinkelman will team up for this session on how to manage test anxiety and practical strategies for tacking higher level order of questions.


  *   How to Decompress & Reassess after an Exam (optional attendance, students only)
     *   Monday, August 18, 1 p.m.-2 p.m. in Levine 201
     *   Erin Suwattana from Behavioral Health and Dr. Hinkelman plus two MS-2 students, a Peer Navigator and Peer Learning Partner, will provide some strategies for how to reset after an exam and then, how to take this as feedback to make useful adjustments moving forward.


  *   Lessons Learned from MS-2 Students (optional attendance, students only)
     *   Friday, August 22, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. via Zoom
