Hi everyone! Pediatric Medicine Club and Psychiatry Club are partnering together to host a talk with adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Martin Urda on September 15th at 7:30 pm on Zoom!

This is a very unique opportunity, as he works at Cherry Hospital, only one of three state psychiatric hospitals in North Carolina. Located in Goldsboro, NC, this hospital serves the eastern part of the state. Cherry Hospital offers psychiatric services for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with severe mental illness. Open since 1880, Cherry hospital's mission is to, "provide excellent psychiatric care to individuals with the greatest need and the fewest resources." Dr. Urda has worked on the adolescent floor of Cherry and now serves as a psychiatrist on the women's unit.

First years, Dr. Urda is adjunct faculty and gives a few lectures in psych for Block 4 so this is a great introduction! Second years, Goldsboro is a rotation site and your psychiatry rotation can be done at Cherry, so feel free to come to learn more!

Whether you are interested in psych, peds, or working in an underserved area, this is a wonderful opportunity!
