[Cusom28] REMINDER: Board Prep Items

Class of 2028, just some reminders as you enter your winter break…
Please note the following time-sensitive, important items that must be completed related to your board preparation and making sure you are set-up for success to take COMLEX-Level 1:

  1.  Set up an NBOME account over the winter break
     *   NBOME Log In<https://nbomeapp.nbome.org/ords/r/nbome/portal/login_desktop?session=12558539775726>
     *   You should have received an email already from NBOME this fall regarding how to set up your account.  However, if you cannot locate this information, then click “Forgot Your Username or Password?” on the login page and use your Campbell email address to obtain this information.

  1.  Complete at least 1,300 COMBANK/TRUELEARN questions by January 6, 2026
     *   You already completed ~1,000 (summer 2025 in your COMLEX 1st year Qbank) so this should be ~300 additional questions completed in your Level 1 Qbank for 2025-2026.
     *   (Look for Exam Year “2025-2026” & Exam Bank “COMLEX Level 1”—the total questions in this bank should be 300 by January.  Questions completed in “USMLE Step 1” do not count toward this total.)

  1.  NOTE:  You will be taking an all-day exam on Tuesday, January 6, 2026—the first day you return from the winter break!

This exam is mandatory because it is valuable in identifying your preparedness for COMLEX at this point in your medical education.  It also gives you the “experience” of an all-day exam as you will take for Level 1.  You should use the feedback from this exam to help focus your Board prep and be more efficient with your available study time.  By targeting your studies, you should notice improvement in future diagnostic exams you will be taking in the next several months.  These are predictive of COMLEX success and provide you some understanding of your preparedness relative to taking Level 1.

     *   This secured, proctored full-length exam will be proctored in Levine 202 from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. with a scheduled 1-hour lunch break from 12:30-1:20 p.m.
     *   There is NO minimum score required, BUT do your BEST so you have a fair evaluation of both your strengths and weaknesses.
     *   Exam login information will be sent by MedEd closer to the exam data.  Please contact Elizabeth Lewis (hautry at campbell.edu<mailto:hautry at campbell.edu>) to arrange accommodations.

  1.  If applicable, request testing accommodations from the NBOME:  https://www.nbome.org/assessments/test-accommodations/
     *   This can take a significant amount of time so START now.  In addition to disabilities protected by the ADA, specific accommodations are also available to students who are diabetic and for those who are pregnant or lactating.

  1.  Attend the Board Preparation Presentation scheduled January 14, 2026, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Levine 202.
     *   Attendance is mandatory, and we will provide essential information on the COMLEX exam, key milestones and criteria for sitting for COMLEX, and more!

  1.  Registering and scheduling your COMLEX Level 1 exam:
     *   You must fully complete your NBOME registration first (see #1 above).
     *   Note:  you are only permitted to schedule between May 7, 2026 – June 14, 2026.  Dates should be made available via the portal up to 6 months in advance (so you may have a few more weeks to see dates become available in June).

     *   Not sure when to schedule your COMLEX?  No problem!  If you are unsure, wait until after our session on January 14 when we will go over this and more in detail.  (You will still have PLENTY of time 😊 so don’t stress).
