Greetings, Class of 2028,
Board Prep Tip: Integrate board prep and mastery of your Block 5 material at the same time (and remember, what you are learning in lecture is essentially board prep and prep for clinical rotations). A good time to do this is after you have already done the hard work of actively learning and trying to master the lecture content. After you do this, then you are ready to "test" yourself. (It is not efficient or in your best interest to do it backwards-leads to fragmented learning and not a good overall mastery and ability to apply concepts across domains...things you need to be a good at clinical reasoning and to do well on your licensing exams.)
* Do a combined question search within TrueLearn and create a "Quiz" for yourself that covers topics you are currently learning. For example, within your "COMLEX Level 1" Qbank:
* Select "Microbiology" from the Disciplines category AND the "Respiratory System" from the Clinical Presentations category-make sure to change "Selected Categories" to "AND" rather than the default setting which is "OR". (This will capture infectious diseases of the respiratory system-meaning questions have to meet both filter criteria).
* Then, create a randomized quiz for yourself.
* Another way to strategically find questions is select a relevant category such as "Cardiovascular System" within the Body Systems category. Then, use the keyword search option.
* For example, if you then input "arrhythmias", you can narrow the questions to ~25 questions within the Qbank. This can be another strategy to utilize as you are working through relevant board-style questions that correspond to your block material.
