The below greeting and IMPORTANT resources (attached) are sent on behalf of Dr. Amy Hinkelman and our CUSOM Academic Center for Excellence (“ACE”). Please review these materials BEFORE Orientation as they will greatly benefit you as you transition to medical school.

On behalf of the CUSOM Academic Center of Excellence (ACE), WELCOME DO Class of 2028!  We are excited to get to know you better and support you in your journey to becoming physicians.  In preparation for classes and supporting a successful transition into medical school, there are two resources (see attached) we would like to share with you.  “Strategies of an Effective & Successful DO Student” includes helpful resources and information as well as some self-reflective exercises and other questions to help you identify effective study skills and efficient time management practices.  As a supplement to this, you will also find “Peer Learning Partners’ Tips for Incoming DO Students” which provides real tips and advice from our CUSOM ACE Peer Learning Partners (second-year students who just successfully completed their first year and are another resource for you during this upcoming year).  We strongly encourage you to read and review these documents both now and during the first few weeks of school as helpful tools and resources.
