<p>I wanted to share a reminder about a great financial assistance opportunity for those of us committed to working in critical employment shortage areas in North Carolina.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>The <strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS) Program</span></strong> was established by the General Assembly to support qualified students enrolled in approved education programs. To be eligible,
you must be a <strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">legal resident of North Carolina</span></strong> and plan to work in a
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">county of need</span></strong> following your residency training.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>This program offers up to <strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">$25,000 per year in forgivable loans</span></strong>, which you can apply for each year of medical school—up to a total of
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">$100,000</span></strong>. For each year of full-time employment post-residency, one year of loan funding will be forgiven. Please note that recipients
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">cannot receive FELS funding concurrently with other state-funded loans</span></strong>. You can access further information and the application
