The College of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) is excited to share this month’s Research Rundown. This is a collection of opportunities designed to support your growth as scholars and leaders. Each month, you’ll receive a curated list of a few abstract calls, grant opportunities, and national research surveys requesting student responses from across the country. These updates are intended to make it easier for you as students to stay engaged in research, present your work on national stages, and contribute to the advancement of osteopathic medical education.

Below you’ll find current opportunities open to medical students, including abstract submissions for upcoming national conferences and a research survey seeking student perspectives.

Abstract Calls
American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting
• Abstract Deadline: October 14, 2025 (11:59 PM CT)
• Conference Dates: April 18–22, 2026
• Details: Open to students, interns, residents, fellows; San Diego, California

American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting
• Abstract Deadline: November 10, 2025 (Noon PST)
• Conference Dates: Location rotates; 2025 meeting expected in Denver, Colorado
• Details: Accepts scientific abstracts & clinical cases

American College of Physicians (ACP) National Abstract Competitions
• Abstract Deadline: November 17, 2025 (11:59 PM ET)
• Conference: Internal Medicine Meeting 2026
• Details: Must be ACP student, resident, or early career member; Boston, Massachusetts
• Info & Submission: ACP Competitions
American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) Annual Scientific Meeting
• Abstract Deadline: November 15, 2025
• Conference Dates: 2026 location expected in Phoenix, Arizona
• Details: Medical students and residents may submit; travel awards available

• Who can participate? Medical students, faculty, and administrators in U.S. medical schools
• Survey length: Approximately 10 minutes
• Anonymity: No identifiable information will be collected
• IRB Approval: This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Boise
