[Cusom27] 2-Step PPD Clarification

Good afternoon,

I have received several questions about the 2-step PPD and wanted to provide clarification. There are two options for the TB requirement.


1.      You can get the Quantiferon Gold blood test and this is a one-time blood test.

2.      You can get the 2-step PPD skin test. This involves get the skin test placed, the results read 48-72 hours later and if negative, you have another test placed 1-3 weeks later and the test read 48-72 hours later.

If you have a spot to upload your results in CastleBranch, please do. Regardless, please send your test results for your Quantiferon Gold blood test OR your 2-step PPD test to both your site coordinator and me, by July 1st.

Some sites are able to accept only a 1-step PPD (one test placed and results read), however, in the event you need to be displaced to a clinical campus that requires a 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold blood test, we want to make sure your prepared.
