The below email is sent on behalf of the Family Medicine Club.
Hello Everyone,
As I have previously shared, the Family Medicine Club is offering support for students to attend the ACOFP Convention<https://www.acofp.org/convention> in Palm Springs, CA on April 3-6, 2025. The last day to register is Saturday, March 8 at 5pm to be part of the group receiving assistance from the Family Medicine Club. The Family Medicine Club has reserved hotel rooms to cover that expense as well as offering $200 reimbursement to help with flight costs (increased from $100), with a larger reimbursement possible depending on the final number attending. Please see below on additional information. If you would like to register please contact a_gasperson0726 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:a_gasperson0726 at email.campbell.edu> to ensure you are accounted for.
What is the Convention?
The convention is a conference of Osteopathic medical students, residents and physicians designed to provide workshops, CME lectures, and networking opportunities. Student specific programing includes everything from OMM workshops, to residency director panels, to navigating the various levels of COMLEX. There are also networking activities like a student hike and a street fair.
What does the Family Medicine club cover?
The Family Medicine club has already reserved rooms and will cover the hotel cost for up to 12 students for Thursday, April 3 to Sunday, April 6 at the Renaissance Palm Springs, where the conference is being held. In addition the Family Medicine Club will provide $200 flight reimbursement (minimum).
What are the requirements to go?
In order to attend you must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, be in good academic standing, a member of the Family Medicine club, and a member of the ACOFP (which is free for students to join). In order for the Family Medicine club to cover the costs as outlined above, it is expected that most of your time will be spent attending the conference. In addition, you will be expected to attend 1 of 2 lectures that our very own Dr. Pennings will be delivering on Friday.
Best,
Andrew Gasperson
Former Family Medicine Club President
