Subject: Med PRIDE Zoom Event Sept. 18

Hello everyone! Med PRIDE is hosting a Zoom event next Wednesday, September 18th at 7pm to discuss incorporating LGBTQ+ care into one's practice and how to go about continuing education on this important topic.

Learning LGBTQIA2S+ Care from the Ground-up, A Family Med Doctor's Journey

 https://campbell-edu.zoom.us/j/97859197023?pwd=DysZ5waQGhSfHbBXhjF5Xm93ld1XMr.1

Please use the attached link or the below meeting ID/password to join our event September 18th at 7pm

Meeting ID: 978 5919 7023

Passcode: 783702

Alex Dworak is a Nebraska raised and trained family physician. He had one hour of a panel discussion with two White cisgender gay men living with HIV his first year of medical school as the sum total of his LGBTQIA2S+ healthcare education. 22 years later, he provides care in English and Spanish to underserved patients with a particular passion for advocacy. He has worked to educate himself in gender affirming medical care, HIV prevention and treatment, and improving his ability to offer welcoming care to immigrant, low English proficiency, Black, Brown, AAPI and Indigenous patients. He has been supported by so many wonderful teachers and patients, and he also still has a lot more he knows he needs to learn.

Dress Code: Casual but please keep it appropriate (i.e. sweatshirts, gym clothes, etc fine but no vulgar language, inappropriate images, etc.)

Seminar design/set-up: First half will be Dr. Dworak sharing his journey, personal experience, and how he educated himself on a topic where not much education was provided. Second half will be open to questions as well as questions being welcomed throughout the talk! Please be mindful and appropriate with the questions asked.

Thank you!

Delaney Christensen
