Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine Student Doctor of the Year - Call for Nominations

CUSOM Faculty, Staff and Students,

I am delighted to announce that we are now accepting nominations for CUSOM's Student Doctor of the Year (SDOY). The process begins with nominating students for this award. Once a student has been nominated and their GPA has been verified, applications will be sent out promptly on October 15th at the completion of the nomination period.

The Student DO of the Year Award (SDOY) is an award presented annually by the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP), a council of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), to students who go above and beyond the average osteopathic medical student. Each School or College of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM/COM) will select a school SDOY, and these school winners will go on to compete for the National SDOY Award. The National SDOY will be announced at the next AACOM Annual Meeting and will be the recipient of a monetary award (amount which will be formally determined at a later date).

The SDOY Award Recipient must be a full-time student at a SOM/COM, cannot be a previous school or national Student DO of the Year (SDOY) recipient, and must also have a cumulative GPA at or above 3.0.  This individual should represent the following ideals and values:


  *   Leadership
  *   Commitment to Community Service
  *   Dedication to the Profession
  *   Professionalism
  *   Embodiment of the Osteopathic Philosophy

Process for SDOY Nominations:

To send in a nomination for a student to be a potential candidate for SDOY, please email all student nominations to my email address: c_carter0225 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:c_carter0225 at email.campbell.edu>.

Deadline: We will be accepting nominations until October 15th, 2024. Any nomination submitted after October 15th will not be eligible for this award. Please make sure to mark this date so as not miss any potential nominations. I will be sending out reminder emails as the time draws closer.
