[Cusom27] CUCCC Spanish-Speaking Patient Reminders

Hello everyone and welcome back to block 2/6.

Specifically related to Spanish-speaking patients at the clinic, please continue to try to introduce yourself to the pt and use the phrases that Mason, Claudia and I have taught you and rest assured we will continue that this block! However, outside of these phrases please allow the interpreters to take over. This will avoid any confusion on the patient’s end as far as chain of communication. It will also avoid confusion with the interpreters on whether they are needed in the encounter and when they need to step in and better explain something to a patient. Finally, it will allow more efficient appointments because the interpreter isn’t having to go back and re-explain things or figure out when they should jump in etc. If you’re consistently in Spanish-speaking appointments where you feel as if you don’t need an interpreter, please reach out to the lead interpreter (me for this block) to set up an assessment!
