Subject: Re: CUSOM Global Scholar of the Year – Call for Applicants
Dear Students,
I am pleased to announce that the process for selecting Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine’s next Global Scholar of the Year (GSOY) has begun.
The Global Scholar of the Year (GSOY) Award is an award presented annually by the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP), a council of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), to students who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact in the field of global health during their medical education. This award honors students who have gone above and beyond to improve healthcare access, education, and/or outcomes for underserved populations internationally, while also embodying the osteopathic philosophy of holistic, patient-centered care in addressing global health challenges. National GSOY Awardees are commended for their efforts with a monetary award that will be announced at a later date.
Applications for this award require a 500-word reflective essay, a letter of recommendation, and an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV). For more information regarding this award, including eligibility, essay prompt, and the application timeline, please see the GSOY one-pager document. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w_NVn646ijQvx_QzTM-uKqfYAg3NTtM_-8nxDq1FeR4/edit?usp=sharing)]. Like all student leadership positions at CUSOM, applicants will need to have a 3.0 GPA to apply.
Deadline: We will be accepting applications from October 18th through November 15th, 2024. If you are interested in applying, please begin gathering/updating your application materials as you see fit. An additional email will be sent with the direct link to submit materials on October 18th.
If you have any questions regarding this award or application, please reach out to me via email at t_jefferies0616 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:t_jefferies0616 at email.campbell.edu>. Thank you!
Sincerely,
