Greetings Class of 2027 - I hope this email finds you all doing well!

I apologize that you are stuck with me for 3 hours of lecture this Block but I promise it won’t be too painful 😊. Tomorrow we will be talking about Delirium/Altered Mental Status and on May 14th we have two hours devoted to traumatic brain injury.

These topics are HUGE in terms of the depth and breadth of information and clinical importance, but I tried to distill them down to the basic fundamentals (for boards and 3rd year rotations) that would fit in 50 slides and our allotted time. 🙂

I did however include a ton of supplemental material (information in the notes section along with links to additional slides, websites, articles, and videos etc.) so you can dive deeper into the material if interested and to have as a resource during rotations (or just for fun!).

Important Reminders

Please remember, all supplementary materials, including any information in the notes section, hyperlinked material, and the slides following the summary slides are for your information/reference only and none of the supplementary material will ever be tested on an exam! It is just there for your reference if interested!

As with our Block 3 presentation on MSK Trauma, the key to studying the presentations and preparing for the quiz/exam are the hyperlinked objectives at the beginning of the presentation.

     * While it may seem like there are a lot of them, they are very specific, and every quiz/exam question will come directly from one of the objectives.

     * Any information on slides included in the class presentation (everything before the summary, including the tables) that is not covered in one of the learning objectives, will not be tested. So if you know the objectives, you know everything you need to for the exam 😊.

Hang in there - you are almost done with your first year!!!

Thanks so much!
