National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15th – October 15th, 2023, is a time to further recognize the contributions made by individuals of the Hispanic and Latinx community to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the CUSOM Chapter of the Student National Medical Association will showcase pioneers of Hispanic descent who have inspired others and made significant contributions in the field of medicine. Additionally, we will be spotlighting CUSOM Faculty, staff, and students of Hispanic descent to recognize the diverse culture of medicine and the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion at CUSOM.

If you are a CUSOM student who is an individual of Hispanic descent and would like to have a rolling feature spotlight profile during Hispanic Heritage Month, please submit your name, graduation year, a headshot/ a whitecoat picture, and a 2-3 sentence response to “Why I chose medicine” to amwalker0814 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:amwalker0814 at email.campbell.edu> by Wednesday, September 20th, 2023.

Additionally, the CUSOM chapter of SNMA is whole-heartedly dedicated to recognizing you and is here if you need any help connecting to resources for all underrepresented medical students. Please let us know If you have any questions.
