My name is Jeremy McFarland and I am the Student and Resident Program Associate with ACOI (American College of Osteopathic Internists), in case we haven't connected yet! I wanted to make sure you knew about an opportunity available to your students.

Any OMS 4 student who has matched into Internal Medicine and is a member of ACOI (free)<https://www.acoi.org/membership/benefits/students> is eligible for the David Susser Memorial Award. One recipient will receive $10,000 plus a $1,000 travel stipend to receive the award at our annual conference.

I've also attached some documents with details about the benefits students can receive by being members of ACOI (including free conference attendance, online programming, and leadership opportunities).

2025 Memorial Awards-Honorarium Available

Nominations for the 2025 Memorial Awards are open. Eligible medical students, residents, and fellows may submit nominations through May 31, 2025. Recipients will receive an honorarium.

The winners will be announced at the ACOI 2025 Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 10, in Marco Island, Florida.

David Susser Award

Honoring the legacy of David Susser, DO, MACOI, who consistently demonstrated integrity, compassion, generosity of time and spirit, and commitment to quality in his personal and professional life. Dr. Susser was a pioneer in osteopathic Internal Medicine who led specialization in the Internal Medicine community. Dr. Susser was a true lover of the arts, humanities, and community.

Eligibility: ACOI members who are Internal Medicine residents or 4th year students who have matched to Internal Medicine.
Honorarium: One recipient will receive $10,000 and a travel stipend of $1,000.
