Hi CUSOM Student Body!

Members of the CUSOM SOMA Executive Board and chapter representatives from across the country recently attended the 2025 Spring Convention and House of Delegates in Arlington, VA. I am excited to share a few important updates and opportunities with you all!

Please find attached a few key documents from the convention:

  *   Post-Convention Summary Note - Full recap of the event, including guest speakers, wellness events, outreach projects, and award recipients
  *   Spring Convention Slides - Highlights include sessions on emotional intelligence in medicine and harm reduction strategies in clinical practice
  *   House of Delegates Final Decisions - A complete list of the proposed resolutions and their outcomes, whether approved, amended, referred, or not approved
SOMA's House of Delegates is the official policy-making body of the organization, made up of representatives from each SOMA chapter. The HoD meets during national conventions to review and vote on resolutions that shape SOMA's advocacy positions and initiatives. These resolutions reflect what students across the country believe is best for our patients, profession, and peers.

At CUSOM, we want your voice to be a part of that process.
Any student is welcome to share their thoughts, concerns, or ideas about the SOMA policy with out chapter's executive board. We are always happy to bring your perspectives forward at the national level. Whether it is something you are passionate about or a policy you want to see changed, we are here to make sure your voice is heard.

Additionally, National SOMA Committee Applications are due TOMORROW!
If you are interested in getting more involved with SOMA at the national level, committees are a great way to contribute to meaningful initiatives!
