If you were considering submitting an abstract for this symposium, but missed the deadline, please let me know today or tomorrow. They will allow a little extra time, but I need to let them know what to expect. This symposium has submission categories for case reports, original research and literature reviews. There aren't many symposia that take lit reviews.
This is a great opportunity for posters and oral presentations. It is a judged event, so awards are a possibility, too.
The forms for submission are in the research organization in blackboard. Let me know if you have trouble finding them.
Remember you can apply for travel funding, too.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hamrick

Subject: Camp Lejeune Research symposium-- Deadline SOON (2/8)
Dear students,
This is a great symposium for presenting your work—NOTE—the deadline for abstract submission is SOON! February 8, 2024.
The 14th Annual Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Research Competition and Symposium Call for Abstracts is OPEN. The Symposium will be held on Thursday, April 11th, 2024, and will include a full day of both poster and podium presentations. Categories include: original research (clinical investigations, educational research), Quality improvement/Process improvement, Healthcare Equity, Literature review/Meta-analysis, and Case reports. (NOTE: there aren't many presentation opportunities for literature review. This is a great opportunity to present a lit review.) The symposium will have an emphasis on operational medicine and Family Medicine; however, abstract submissions from any specialty and all levels of training will be considered. This is a great meeting for students.
Abstracts submitted to CURRE are eligible for submission to this meeting as the CURRE event is not published. (Of course modifications for this event and this audience would be highly encouraged.) You have received this same announcement through the Blackboard Research Organization. The forms for submission are attached here, or you can find them in the research organization in the “student items” folder.
The abstract deadline is February 8, 2024.
The symposium is held at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. There is a process to gain access to the base. If you submit an abstract, please be on the lookout for the emailed instructions to complete the paperwork ahead of time.
