[Cusom26] MS-2 Orientation & Important Information

Hello, MS-2 Students!

We hope you had an amazing summer and are looking forward to welcoming you back to CUSOM! ☺

We will have a brief Orientation for your class next Thursday, July 27th starting at 9:00am in Lecture Hall 202.

  *   Please plan on arriving between 8:30am and 8:45am.
  *   Dress code is business casual (no tie required, but no jeans, sweats, scrubs, or tennis shoes, etc.).
  *   Please bring your laptop with you in case it is needed.
  *   We will NOT be providing breakfast for you, so be sure to eat breakfast before you arrive!
  *   Water and snacks will be available throughout the morning.
  *   Following your morning Orientation sessions, we will provide Panera for your Advisor lunch meetings on the 3rd floor at 12:00 noon.
  *   Following your Advisor lunch, we will have locker assignments on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors for ALL MS-1 and MS-2 students.
  *   ***PLEASE BRING A KEY OR COMBINATION LOCK WITH YOU ON THURSDAY!
  *   You will find a locker during this time and will place your lock on it. There will be locker assignment tables set up on each floor where you will either drop off one of your lock keys with Student Affairs, or will provide staff with your lock combination. For example, if you prefer a locker on the 2nd floor, you will place your lock on an available locker and then find a locker assignment table on the 2nd floor. If you miss this locker assignment day, please check in with Student Affairs (Wendy) for an available locker.

On Friday, July 28th your CABS exam will begin at 8:30am. Please plan on arriving by 8:20am.

  *   Following your exam, we will have an MS-1/MS-2/Faculty/Staff Welcome Picnic at 11:30am. Hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, etc. will be provided!
  *   Bring your own blanket or lawn chair if the weather is nice and you can sit out on the lawn and get to know some of our incoming students.
  *   SGA will be hosting a kickball tournament that afternoon. More information will be sent out in a separate email and there will be a waiver to sign for participants.

Immunizations

  *   Please be sure your immunizations are up-to-date in CastleBranch.
  *   If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Allie Schofield (email: aschofield at campbell.edu<mailto:aschofield at campbell.edu>).

Updated Contact Information

  *   Please fill out the following Wufoo survey so we can keep track of your emergency contact information. This information is MANDATORY and needs to be updated each year (even if you didn’t move). We will be following up with each student individually until all have completed this task, so please be sure to complete this survey:
  *   https://cuweb.wufoo.com/forms/ms2-updated-contact-information-class-of-2026/
  *   This survey is due this FRIDAY, July 21st. No need to resubmit if you have already filled it out.


Campbell Emergency Alert System

  *   This sign-up needs to be re-completed EACH year. If you have not already done so, please sign-up with your mobile phone number so you can be alerted about weather delays or any other campus-related emergency.

Parking

  *   All students must renew their parking  permit each year (as they expire every August).
  *   The enrollment portal for commuting students opens on Wednesday, July 19th.
  *   To register your vehicle, please visit: https://www.campbell.edu/campus-safety/parking/vehicle-bicycle-registration/ and click on “Register your vehicle or bicycle”.
  *   Please see the attached document for additional parking information.
  *   Once you register your vehicle, you may pick up your parking sticker at Campus Safety (on main campus).
  *   Parking citations will begin August 23rd, but please pick up your parking permit ASAP!

Little Brother/Little Sister Program

  *   As you remember, you will each be assigned a little brother or little sister in the MS-1 Class of 2027. Now it’s your turn to let them know everything you have learned in the past year! 😉
  *   Wendy will be working on the little brother/little sister list this week and will send out this information in a separate email.
  *   Feel free to reach out to your “little” to make them feel welcome and answer any questions they may have (you remember what it was like, right)?!

An Orientation schedule is attached for you as well as an updated Advisor list (THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CHANGES SO BE SURE TO CHECK THIS LIST).
