[Cusom26] Mandatory QPR training on Feb. 16th for 1st Year Med Students

Hello everyone,
You have likely noticed the QPR training scheduled for 2/16 at 11am. In case you are wondering what that is, it is the QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention training which is focused on basic intervention skills for intervening with suicidal individuals. Several years ago, COCA (our accrediting body) began requiring all DO students receive QPR training. I'm the certified trainer for CUSOM. COCA does request information on the number of student trained each year. The training is listed as mandatory on the schedule. Each person attending will receive a Certificate acknowledging that you have completed the gatekeeper training. If you miss, the only way to make it up to is to pay to do the individual training with the QPR Institute, which will cost you $29.95, and you will need to send a copy of your certificate to me upon completion so I can add you to this list of trained students. I'm sending this email as a courtesy to try and save you $29.95. We also want to report strong numbers to COCA. Have a good day! See you on 2/16!
