Hello CMDA Family!

    Congratulations to all the first years on finishing your first exam! Regardless of your score, know your identity doesn't rest in your results on a test. Your identity rests in Christ, as a beloved child of God. As we were discussing on Friday, as we studied the first part of James 1, allow the trials and challenges of life to grow your faith and trust in the Lord.
This week, we will be skipping our normal Friday meeting to allow students time to attend Lake Day 2023. If you need anything, want to talk, or have any prayer requests, please feel free to reach out. We are here for you! Also, look all the way to the end of the email for updates on the upcoming conferences.

Lake Day 2023
On Saturday, August 19, TCMDA will be hosting Lake Day! Students from several programs across NC will be coming together for a fun day on the lake with a special guest speaker, David Geisler. I would highly recommend attending if you can, it will be blast!

2023 Global Missions Health Conference
Please consider joining us for the Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC) on November 9-11 in Louisville, KY. GMHC is an annual gathering of Gospel-minded health care professionals and students and representatives from over a hundred mission-focused organizations, schools, and residency programs. This is a great chance to learn about opportunities and strategies to serve the Lord in medicine in a missions context in the United States and globally.

There will be talks from current missionaries sharing testimonies of God's work domestically and abroad as well as discussion of practical aspects of practicing medicine in a challenging setting. There will also be opportunities to network with other like minded students and health care professionals at various booths. CUSOM will also have a booth where potential future medical students can talk with current students (that's us!) about the opportunities available here to learn and grow as a student doctor and a servant of God through outreach and community.

Transportation to and from the conference will be provided and housing in Louisville is available free of charge over the weekend as well. Cost of registration is $105 currently, and will be $115 after 8/31/23 (you can register through the website<https://facebook.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=037b083f0c31e7467d392f304&id=8d3f569a43&e=34cf9f067f>). Partial reimbursement will be available for students who go to the conference.
