Subject: Kids Clothing & Supplies Drive starts Monday 10/17!

Hey, Campbell Health Sciences Fam!

Student organizations across CPHS and CUSOM are working together to host a Kids Clothing & Supplies Drive to benefit local families in need. This Campbell Health Collaborative* event will run from Monday, October 17th through Wednesday, October 26th. Be on the lookout for boxes in Levine (by the security desk), Smith (under the stairs by the security desk), Maddox (lobby) and the Student Union (center of 1st floor by the couches) - they’ll stick around until Friday, November 4th to give donors an extra weekend to clean out closets, so spread the word within your extended local communities!)

Donations will be connected to the community through Harnett County Partnership for Children. This organization champions early childhood development in HC to help give kids the best start in life possible; the Harnett County Health Department frequently refers families facing significant needs to them.

We are collecting new & gently used children’s clothing (sizes newborn to 5T) as well as common childhood supplies - see attached flyer for accepted items. For DO students, you will receive 1 Touch hour if the donated item is equivalent to $10. For MSBS students, you will receive 1 hour of volunteer service for donating an item that is equivalent to $10. MSBS students can receive more hours through helping sort the donated items on Friday, October 21. DO students may volunteer as well during this time to receive 1 hour, but you are only allotted 1 hour total for Touch hours due to your limitations of 3 hours per cycle. Thank you so much for supporting local families who could use a hand!

*What is the Campbell Health Collaborative? We’re a group of students from across the programs of CPHS and CUSOM. We know that we’ll be healthcare colleagues in the future, but we don’t need degrees in hand to start making a difference together now. We’re enjoying getting to know each other through community service and hope you’ll join us in working across college lines more on future projects - because in healthcare, we need each other and we’re stronger together!
