For those of y’all that don’t know me, my name is Rachael Ard and I’m a third year student here at Campbell. I recently started a new position as Director of Communications for the <a href="https://oncologypt.org/sigs/students-new-professionals/">APTA Oncology Student and New Professional Subcommittee</a>. My responsibilities are primarily to coordinate with the leadership team, the Oncology Board, and others to create content for Instagram (@APTAOncologySNP), <a href="https://twitter.com/APTAOncologySNP">Twitter</a>, and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/APTAOncologySNP/">Facebook</a>. Additionally, I’m in charge for finding contributors to our blog. </p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'>Today, I am reaching out to y’all to ask if anyone is interested in contributing to the blog or know anyone that would be interested. These posts are written by students and new professionals for students and new professionals. Our very own Kelly Martin wrote a wonderful post about addressing exercise behaviors in cancer rehab (which I have attached in this email). Coming soon on the blog is a student’s perspective of being a cancer survivor and a student physical therapist.</p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:.5in'>I do encourage everyone to check out the Subcommittee for resources including diagnostic downloads, town hall meetings, mentorship opportunities, and numerous educational resources. There are also many other ways you can get involved and volunteer. There are many ways that physical therapists can improve the lives of people living with cancer and people recovering from cancer.
