<p class="MsoNormal">I know that you are working in crazy times, but people continue to fall regardless of the virus. Probably the risk for falling among many older adults has significantly increased due to social isolation that can result in depression, anxiety,
and limited activities. All three huge factors that increase individual falls risk. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As the Silver Tsunami is less than half way finished, then add on the COVID 19 pandemic, fall risks and prevention become an even more significant issue for physical therapist and physical therapist assistants to address in multiple populations. The
APTA NC Falls Prevention Special Interest Group has developed the 3rd Annual Falls Prevention Challenge this year that will not require contact with anyone and can be done with just the current students in your program. Hopefully, this challenge will be an
opportunity for your students to learn about the multifactorial elements of falls, by recognizing that APTA has 3 different academies, Neurology, Geriatrics and Oncology, that have Falls Prevention Special Interest Groups to address this significant issue
with great resources on their web pages. <o:p></o:p></p>
