<p class="MsoNormal">1<sup>st</sup> time pass rates are improving, however, not where we’d like them to be. National average is 91-93% for 1<sup>st</sup> time pass rates over graduation years listed above.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Helpful hints:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Read your textbooks and refer to them when studying. NPTE test item questions are taken from there. The program utilizes textbooks that are listed as resources for NPTE development by the FSBPT. This is especially helpful with naming/definitions
of test/measures related to examination processes across all practice domains (cardiopulmonary, lymphatic, integumentary, neuromuscular/neurological, and musculoskeletal). Some courses that may not appear relevant to your study preparation for the NPTE actually
are (e.g. imaging, special populations with vestibular and women’s health information, pharmacology).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Licensure preparation texts are helpful too. The program provides ScoreBuilders materials for you in the spring year 3 along with an onsite course; so you have a year to prepare if testing in January and 9 month if qualified to test in
October prior to graduation. The program purchases two exams from ScoreBuilders and both PEAT exams for you to take in the last year of the program.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Exam performance in program has a relationship to NPTE performance. I.e. if you struggle taking tests in the program, there is a higher likelihood of struggles with the NPTE. If you fall into this group, work with your advisors early to
identify strategies to improve in this area. Other metrics to consider, you have a 95% chance to pass NPTE if ScoreBuilder score 72 or higher and 600 or higher on practice PEAT exams.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">All of you are capable of passing the NPTE on the 1<sup>st</sup> attempt. Use the standards above to gauge your readiness as your time approaches. I meet with PT3 cohorts early in spring semester to go over these items and more in greater
details to discuss factors that influence NPTE pass rates along with sharing a variety of study preparation resources outside of what the program already offers.<o:p></o:p></p>
