<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Hello CPHS Students! Each year here at Campbell, the PA Program hosts a Mass Casualty Incident Day on campus. This event is a simulation of a mass casualty incident where the emergency preparedness skills
of health professions students are put to the test. In order to make this event both successful and impactful for all of those involved, we need volunteers to help us ensure the event runs smoothly! This year, the MCI will be held on
<b>Saturday, June 8th. </b>We need volunteers to help set up, take down and help with all the steps in between. Below is a description of each volunteer role and what will be expected of you as a volunteer at this event. Sign up

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Volunteer patients</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">: Channel your inner actor/actress to fulfill this fun and exciting role. You will be given a script to help you get into character as well as
what your injuries are at check-in. Costume and make-up will be used to make those injuries look as real as possible. Before the MCI scenario begins, members of the committee will help place you in the staging area and answer questions you may have. The drill
will begin and emergency medicine personnel as well as students in training will triage you according to your injuries sustained. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">A licensed medical professional (MD, DO, PA, NP, etc) will stay by your side the entire time to ensure the students in training are correctly treating you. This process will allow you to stay in character
the entire time and no medical background is required! It is recommended to wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty/stained/torn on the day of the MCI to really get you into character. **Please note this may be a traumatic role to play. If violence/trauma
is something you are uncomfortable with do not sign up for this role and stay away from the field of play (Maddox hall). <b><i>Need minimum of 35 volunteers. Maximum of 60 volunteers.</i></b><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Make-up Artists</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">: Have an interest in helping getting the patients ready for their debut? Now is your shot! We are looking for
<b>11 </b>volunteers to help apply make-up onto our volunteer patients. Make-up not only includes coloring, bruising, etc. but applying prosthetic as well. Experience with theatrical make-up application is preferred but not required. Two to three weeks prior
to the event you will be required to attend a moulage class to learn/refresh yourself on the make-up application process. Date TBD.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">First-aid tent volunteers</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">: Should there be an injury/emergency, there will be 3 first-aid tents set up and manned for the duration of the MCI event (8:30a - 2:30p).
Having BLS/ACLS certification in preferred, but not required. You will be required to attend a short class on how to operate the radios prior to the MCI event. Date TBD. <i>shifts can be split up into 2 hour increments. 2 people per tent at all times.
<b>~15 volunteers needed </b></i><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Lunch Help</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">: Every volunteer will have the opportunity to eat lunch at Smith Hall (on the medical campus) from 12:30 - 2:30p. Volunteers will help set-up for lunch,
serve, and clean-up after. Shifts will begin at 11:30 and go until 3:30. <i>They can be broken up into 1 hour shifts, will need 3+ volunteers at all times.
<b>~10 volunteers needed </b></i><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Health Science Students</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> [Nursing, Pharmacy, DO, Social Workers, Public Health]: want to put your skills to the test in the role you've been training for? You have
to opportunity to work beside your fellow health care students in a hospital OSCE setting. You will need to be on the medical campus by 8:30am and stay until all your patients have been treated and discharged. *PA students are required to participate and therefore
will not need a sign-up. <b><i>Have capacity for up to 10 volunteers from each program:
</i></b>Nursing, Pharmacy, DO, Social Workers, Public Health<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Triage [ONLY if you are a certified EMT, Paramedic, or Combat Medic]</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">: Field triage is needed and will be practiced in a <b>realistic</b> MCI setting. Volunteers
must have experience triaging patients to participate in this role. <b><i>Have capacity for up to 20 volunteers.</i></b><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> Set-up and break-down crew:</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> help set up tents, tables, stock coolers, reset osce rooms after event, and place patients in 'the field of play'. Times: 7:00a - 10:00a,
